Invitation to Participate
Brunvold Room, 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Presenting the Nordic Futures Knowledge Cloud

– powered by EdCast and Nordic Futures

Introducing Nordic Futures

We cordially invite you to attend our workshop during Seed Forum Global, where Future Learning Lab in partnership with Open Innovation Lab of Norway will be presenting the Nordic Futures project. Future Learning Lab is also a conference partner with Seed Forum Global. Below is a description of the project and goals of the workshop.

The Nordic Futures project is a collaboration between EdCast, Future Learning Lab, Open Innovation Lab of Norway and other stakeholders who are part of our annual conferences and workshops – called World Learning Summit. This is a successful and growing meetings space, with regular attendance from upwards of 20 countries. Our next summit is in September, in Kristiansand, where we yet again have gathered world-known speakers from several countries, including AI specialist Paco Nathan from Silicon Valley and the former president of the University of Iceland, Krístin Ingolfsdóttir. Nordic Futures will be further developed by then, with more stakeholders coming in. Are you one of them? The goal with our workshop and launch in the Oslo Opera on June 12th is to demonstrate the EdCast Knowledge Cloud from that point of view.

Founder and CEO of EdCast, Karl Mehta, is here to do do that demonstration. Karl was Barack Obama´s first Innovation Fellow in the White House. He was also our partner at our 2015 conference at Stanford, where we had 35 speakers from 12 countries on stage. He is a serial entrepreneur with successful companies and exits before EdCast. Nordic Futures will continue in close partnership with EdCast at their main location in Silicon Valley. In short, this workshop is rather unique. So please join us. We have space for 30 in the Brunvoll Room.

Nordic collaboration involving edtech, societal digitalization and learning innovations has been growing. “Digital transformation” is on everyone´s lips. Norforsk, Nordic Innovation Center, Nordic Innovation House and a growing number of hubs and incubator initiatives reflect that spirit. We speak so highly of Nordic collaboration. However, what has yet to emerge is a viable and truly inter-Nordic arena for collaboration on knowledge sharing, information and capacity building on matters relating to digital change og society. The future of entrepreneurship is part of that perspective. And this is what we seek to achieve with the Nordic Futures project, an explorative project using the EdCast Learning Experience Platform.

At the workshop you will have an opportunity to join our stakeholder network early or simply to assess and review what we are trying to do. The team behind Nordic Futures consists of the network of scholars and entrepreneurs collaborating in the Future Learning Lab, stakeholders in the World Learning Summit — our annual conference, and the team from EdCast. Our goal is to expand these networks with key stakeholders in companies, the public sector, education institutions and more.

Demonstrating the EdCast LXP

Demonstration of the EdCast learning experience platform – EdCast Learning Experience Platform (LXP) by Karl Mehta, CEO:
•EdCast works on many levels and will be exploring the various modes and means in which Nordic Futures can operate on this platform.
•EdCast is a five-year old company that began its development alongside more well-known players like EdX, Coursera, Udacity, Udemy, FutureLearn (Europe) and Emma (Europe). Over the years EdCast has developed a different approach, allowing companies and networks to tailor-make knowledge-sharing processes.

At the end of the workshop we will invite a sign-up for those who want to either try out the approach or sign up to begin collaborating.
